There are some very talented artists creating imaginative imagrey here, but it’s all high-fantasy and video game dribble. This is Illustration not “Art”
I can think of a couple of example of real art, like Benjamin West’s “Death of General Wolfe” or Jacques-Louis David’s “Oath of the Horatii” and “Intervention of the Sabine Women”. These are example of battle and warrior art from classical masters.
Or check out paintings from Feudal Japan now that is real warrior “art”. Wikipedia this shit. Get a little perspective and learn some Art History.

Wow, someone trying to be smarter than they really are.
art [ahrt]
–noun
1. the quality, production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or of more than ordinary significance.
2. the class of objects subject to aesthetic criteria; works of art collectively, as paintings, sculptures, or drawings: a museum of art; an art collection.
3. etc.
(taken from Dictionary.com)
It doesn’t matter what YOU think it is, it’s all on the author/artist/person who did it.

Oh snap. Pretty sure they garnered the techniques of the masters in order to produce their artwork. Pretty sure the classics pulled their techniques from the Etruscans. Pretty sure that the Etruscans pulled their’s from Egypt. Everyone is capable of great art. Some are incapable of realizing the potential of others (or are just downright egocentric).

Although you are an idiot for saying this isnt art, because art is subjective, this is some pretty bad art. He has his body proportions completely off and it kinda looks like some 19 year old kid with photoshop made this crap. Stumbleupon please up your standards.

This is really awesome! My favorite warrior is Auron from FFX, If I had the graphic design skills I would create something exactly like this. But alas, I don’t. I can admire the collection here on Noupe, though!

This is a nice post. But some picture are a bit cliché or overdone.
I also like the work of Tetsuo Hara on the manga Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star), some of the illustrations he made (especially on the characer of Raoh on his horse, Kokuoh) are incredible.
On a more “traditional” form of art you should take a look on the paintings of Feodor Tamarsky (http://www.uechi-info.com/articles.php?lng=fr&pg=37) a russian martial artist and painter. Being himself a great warrior, he has an awesome way to see pictures and mixes perfectly rough paint or ink with fine pencil or pen.
(I had kendo classes with him some years ago, you better be awake when he attacked you… my ribs still remember *_*)

This is perfect timing! The illustrator I work with is currently working on a Valkyrie with a American Bulldog attacking and the client is looking for styles similar to these. Everyone has their own preferences for art, I think these are incredibly well done. Not necessarily my style, but still cool! Thanks for sharing.
