June 15th, 2010

Everyone loves angels, fairies, cupids and other fairy characters because they are pure and beautiful and appear to be more powerful than others. This is the reason why many artists all around the world love to illustrate these kinds of creatures in their artworks. But on the other hand, there are some devilish creatures which exist, too and many artists opt to portray them in their artwork, to bring their level of creativity to the next level and to introduce the faces of devilish characters to the world.

Here, in this post, we have showcased some of the terrifying examples of Devilish Artworks for your inspiration. We hope that they will not come to in your dream to dread you.

Reminds of that game called Doom. Oh the memories.

Well done artwork by the way.

Tbh, the first half struck me as very low quality. As if fantasy artwork always needs to look like a 1970s paintbrush job on a pimp mobile.

I was wondering where the art was.

Then it picked up and a couple turned out be really well done and beautiful.

I DO wonder however: how do you research for stuff like this. Just google for ogre?

Yeah, most of them aren’t impressive at all. With the powerful CG and image editing tools available today, there are far better artworks…. besides, these don’t scare me at all :P

One thing that strikes are the depictions of the devil and how “evil” he looks. But in the original “history” wasn’t Satan a deciple of God? Surely Satan would look more like an angel…merely an evil one. This is where a truly horrible image would be born – a seemingly innocent looking angel/person doing unspeakable things.

Things that look evil, doing evil things, are not scary.

Horror in an artistic form .. beautiful!

Very nice, except I take exception to the labeling of one as ‘demonic’.

Chicago: the Calling should be labeled as ‘Gotham: the Calling’ because that ‘demon’ is none other than the Dark Knight, Batman.

    Angel And Demon very nice.

Well….what is left to be said? These horryifyng monstrosities posing as art only beg the question…what is art and is it of any use? I cannot say either way but what I can say I will leave to the experts in this random , chaotic, bold , circumstantial reality called ” life “. True horror in my infinite ignorance lies within the acknowlegment that one day it will ALL end…
    just a thought
