  1. Tbh, the first half struck me as very low quality. As if fantasy artwork always needs to look like a 1970s paintbrush job on a pimp mobile.

I was wondering where the art was.

Then it picked up and a couple turned out be really well done and beautiful.

I DO wonder however: how do you research for stuff like this. Just google for ogre?

    1. Yeah, most of them aren’t impressive at all. With the powerful CG and image editing tools available today, there are far better artworks…. besides, these don’t scare me at all :P

      1. yes we know there are more artworks out there, but man the internet is big, you can post links of those you need to mention

  2. Some truly amazing work there – have discovered a few new artists I am going to have to look further into!

As much as I dislike lists, great list! lol

  3. One thing that strikes are the depictions of the devil and how “evil” he looks. But in the original “history” wasn’t Satan a deciple of God? Surely Satan would look more like an angel…merely an evil one. This is where a truly horrible image would be born – a seemingly innocent looking angel/person doing unspeakable things.

Things that look evil, doing evil things, are not scary.

  4. Very nice, except I take exception to the labeling of one as ‘demonic’.

Chicago: the Calling should be labeled as ‘Gotham: the Calling’ because that ‘demon’ is none other than the Dark Knight, Batman.

  5. Well….what is left to be said? These horryifyng monstrosities posing as art only beg the question…what is art and is it of any use? I cannot say either way but what I can say I will leave to the experts in this random , chaotic, bold , circumstantial reality called ” life “. True horror in my infinite ignorance lies within the acknowlegment that one day it will ALL end…
    just a thought
