If you professionally use Photoshop as your favorite image editor, chances are, you’ve heard of Filter Forge more than once during the last few years. Filter Forge is a software and a plugin for Adobe Photoshop and other image editors with the same plugin technology. With Filter Forge you are able to create your own filters visually. This is great, of course, but even greater is the growing collection of community-made filters, ready for you to use. More than 10,000 are available at the time of this writing, with more being added daily. Filter Forge is not a free software, though. Today we teamed up with the great folks behind this equally great piece of software, to give three of our readers the chance to win them a license of Filter Forge 4 Standard, worth 249 USD. Come in and find out…
Filter Forge 4: Create Your Own Photo Filters
Filter Forge started out as standalone software and Photoshop plugin, designed to let photographers and image workers of other professions create their own custom filter sets. And as such it was very successful. Throughout the years more and more filters saw the light of day and the filter collection at Filter Forge’s website grew to more than 10,000 elements.
Today it is still great to be able to create one’s own filter sets, yet the availability of that many ready-made filters is an intriguing sales argument in itself. No wonder that Filter Forge offers a Basic Edition for lesser money, with which you cannot create your own filters, but still use all the filters made by others. This Basic Edition sells for 149 dollars.
The Standard Edition offers all the features of the Basic Edition, but adds the ability to modify existing filters as well as create new ones. This version sells for 249 dollars and is exactly the version you have the chance of winning today. Filter Forge works on Windows and Mac OS X alike.
For very large images and some other advanced stuff, you’ll need to shell out 399 dollars and buy the Professional Edition. For most demands, the Standard Edition should be perfectly sufficient. I know it is for me.
