Yeah, great examples. I have seen a couple before, but really liked the ones I have not. I think the ‘Significant Numbers’ is my favorite.

Madness is surely genius. Fantastic post – it’s being thrown into my ‘inspired!’ pile.
Some nice work, but truthfully, most of these are arguably illustrations than typography per se; maybe “type-influenced or type-based” illustrations.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that…

Amazing design selections! My background in design is primarily focused on printing but I might use these as proof that a name can be used alone if designed cleverly enough. Who needs a logo when your name does all the talking for you?
