I am working on a wordpress site for a local non-profit trying to stop an unnecessary highway extension from pushing them out of their homes. Oh, it is very difficult to find nice looking Wordpress theme for free. While all of themes listed here looks amazing, I would really enjoy using one called “Fresh News” for my blog. I already amaze it with that theme.
Ahhh Noupe. You know you are officially my favorite site for tech ideas and tools for my Wordpress site.
I have bumbled along learning as I go. I am a very smart cookie, but have zero training in web design, html, php, etc, I really am “winging it” and learning as I go. I developed my first blog,
http://www.hillbillydirect.com using WordPress. I have spent countless hours trying to figure out how to customize this and that. With this I have had many challenges.
I have attempted to outsource customization twice and have now spend $400 trying to get a good theme/layout.
My last outsource effort has been terrible. I still have $100 tied up with eLance for a project that is just not materializing.
Why would I like to win a theme?
Simply to take my site back to the ground stage and start with a Premium theme. I really like the looks of the Fresh News Theme. I think the advantage to starting with a Premium theme, as opposed to a freebie, is the Quality. My thought is much less complications will arise working with a premium theme instead of a freebie, less glitches, less theme php edits, etc.
What I would do with it is this;
backup my data (posts),
Start a fresh installation of Wordpress,
Upload and activate the Premium theme I win,
Customize it to the best of my ability (appears to be easier than free themes),
load and edit previous posts,
Accept my lesson as learned, start with quality, get quality, start with freebies…..a quality end product is much more challenging espessially if one doesn’t have training in all the “code”.

I am always on the look for nice looking themes especially magazine types. The reality is, it’s not easy to find one that fully satisfy me. I look at color scheme, header space, easy video insertion, sidebar location, font types and sizes etc.

Premium themes are nice, but sometimes they are wildly overrated. There is nothing worse than spending your money on a premium theme and you dont get what you want. If they dare, many premium theme designers should show us the backends of their themes before getting people to purchase them.
Personally, I prefer working with premium themes that have a free version, as then, I can actually have a feel of the purchase before dropping my hard earned nairas (yes, I am Nigerian). For example, $79 ~= N9000.
I want to know how they put all of these features together, and how a CMS theme works. “Celebrity Press” looks great and I like it’s capabilities. “Cassiopeia” for my business site. “Traveler” is very attractive and simple.

Doing a lot of work for artists to really showcase their work and embrace the potential of the internet. Any of these themes would directly benefit Australian artists. There isn’t a lot of money in the arts, so anything for free is a great help!
I am a real fan of wordpress. I actually used to have a blog run on wordpress until a week ago but my domain was hacked and I lost it. I really admire the wordpress community because they really know how to mix both free and paid for content. There are some really great free themes but themes like these really elevate wordpress to the next level.

I founded the American Homeless Society in 1987 when my sons and I were homeless in Eureka, California. I’ve been organizing and advocating for homeless rights ever since.
I was offered internet access in 1995, in Eureka while homeless, and developed a primitive website along with mailing lists to spread homeless news to interested subscribers.
I’ve always wanted a website where I could link visitors to homeless-related news, information, announcements and other websites where homeless men, women and children could find vital information.
Something like FRESH NEWS would serve the homeless grand. I’m crossing my fingers still for such an opportunity after so many years of basic communications with other homeless folks and friends of the homeless. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

My son’s present blog was created using Blogger. (I know a sub par blogging site if ever there was one.) At the time I was not aware of WordPress, but boy have I seen the light. Mimbo Pro is by far one of the best-looking WP themes I’ve seen. I currently use a theme with similar features and flexability *it cost me $67). The thing I like most about Mimbo is it’s magazine-style layout.
I use my blog more to showcase my Web writing/editing/SEO freelance business. If you look at my site, you’ll notice that I haven’t turned on “comments,” although I might in the future. Right now, drumming up business is what my blog is all about.
I’ve had two customers tell me that the look and feel of my blog directly contributed to their hiring me. Well, Mimbo kicks it up another notch and no doubt its classy, clean and athletic style and its superlative functionality will contribute mightily to propelling my business into the future.

I’ll let you in on a secret here’s what I do. I go to warez forums or torrents and I download the premium wordpress themes. They get leaked out and then you can take them and sometimes they don’t have the credit line at the bottom that authors encrypt.
So I get free premium wordpress themes for free.
Mimbo Pro is really nice, these guys did a great job. I’ve bought a few premium themes, but these are certainly nicer.

As an individual trying to get into blogging more, it would be awesome to have one of these professionally designed themes to help build my site, as well as to highlight my photography portfolio (as such, I’m really interested in the Cassiopia theme - but in honesty, any of them would be an excellent addition.)
It’s always difficult deciding on what theme to have on your blog. For me FreshNews would be an excellent theme to have because it is clean and simple.
I personally like WooTheme’s Fresh News. I would use it to promote indie artists of all genres. Of course, there’s plenty sites that have this already but my emphasis would be on demos, live performances, and less known indie subcategories. southern indie hip hop would be a good example. Of course, there’ll be heavily critical on what we promote or don’t promote.
I would love to get my hands on one of these templates. I had a website a while back which I coded in full HTML. I am trying to get back into it and I see that now html is pretty outdated. My friend recommended me Wordpress and I am trying to learn as much as I can.

I would like to use the themes to improve of the non-profit organizations I volunteer for.
I run a DVD / movie review site that unfortunately has stagnated lately. My goal for the site has been to transition it to a blog format in order to increase interactivity and make it easier for me to manage the content. Unfortunately, while I have had experience in building WordPress themes, I haven’t really had the time to rebuild the site the way I want it.
I would use one of these themes (I’m thinking either the Fresh News or the Mimbo Pro would work best)as the jump start to get the site back into full swing.

I would like to win Mimbo Pro. I don’t think I will ever do anything with it since I can never seem to make time to work on my blog that no one knows about. It is a very nice theme for a very nice almost non-existent blog. I’m not even sure why I am trying to get a free premium theme for it!

If I were to win this contest, having to decide which one of these premium templates I would want would be a more difficult decision than who I picked to be President. Should I win, I would instantly convert my existing blog to use the new templates. I’m finding my content is starting to outgrow the default template I’ve decided to run with. Besides, it’s always nice to roll up to the party in the Rolls than it is the Yugo.

Well, if I’m so lucky as to win a theme, Cassiopeia would be such a nice fit as I’m currently planning my own portfolio site. But even the other themes could find their use, especially in the long overdue redesign of our theatre’s website. Ah, decisions, decisions!

Studio Blue would be perfect for a project site I am working on.
While I think they are all great (and I could utilize almost any of them), I particularly like the Fresh News and Studio Blue themes.
Currently looking to upgrade my blog and Fresh News would offer a perfect fit/feel to the site.
The Travel theme would also be one that I could easily utilize in another project I’m currently working on for travel to the Carribean.

These are absolutely lovely. If I had my choice, I’d choose celebrity… I would use it to set up a wordpress for a good friend/business partner of mine and myself. We’re in the process of starting our own organization for young underprivileged teenage girls. The site will include a blog and forum for a more personal touch. We’re putting this program together to help keep these girls off the streets, educate them about pregnancy prevention and the dangers of alcohol and drug use. This will all be in the effort to guide young teenage girls from making lifelong mistakes and motivating them to do more with their lives. The site will give them a place to go when they need someone to talk to, help find friends who will help guide them the right way and emotional support. It’s personally important to us to help our community and abroad. As young women we made many mistakes of our own and we now hope to help other young women make better choices. Having a beautiful page will initially help attract the younger crowd and appeal to them as their peers.
